SCOPE

The scope of the Circular Feed association is producers of moist / wet animal feeds from the agricultural, food and fermentation industries. A characteristic of these products is that they are produced during the processing of basic products such as grains, potatoes and beets into foodstuffs and ingredients. Foods that have been rejected, recalled or have expired do not fall under the Circular Feed association definition and scope of moisture-rich feed materials.

Place in the chain
The moisture-rich animal feeds are purchased by distributors from the food, beverages and fermentation industries and delivered to livestock farmers as a single product or as a standardized mixture of multiple products. Moisture-rich animal feeds form an integral part of the animal feed sector, which is further detailed in Figure 1. This figure shows an overview of the most important parties and product flows.

Quality guarantees
The Circular Feed association has been committed to providing quality assurance for the entire animal feed sector since its inception. Feed and food safety have the highest priority within the quality policy. Members of the Circular Feed association produce their moisture-rich feed materials under a strict and certified quality regime such as GMPplus or equivalent. Sales to livestock farmers take place exclusively through certified channels, in order to guarantee the quality of the moist feed materials right up to the farm.
